Direct Marketing: #GivingTuesday and Year-End Giving

This year, there has been a new ‘holiday’ being touted, #GivingTuesday. It’s even been written up in Spectrem’s Millionaire Corner. The more the message gets out the better for all of us. How are you celebrating #GivingTuesday this year?

Here’s a powerful advertisement highlighted by osocio. It’s in French, but the translation is provided.

Year-end fundraising – and the direct marketing campaigns around it – is now in full swing:

Joe Boland, in FundraisingSuccess, shares how some organizations have extended the giving season to start a little earlier.

The Salvation Army has started bringing its Red Kettle campaign online. Tiffany Crumpton shares some about that here.

Does your organization force you to include text in your direct mail campaigns that isn’t effective? Jeff Brooks suggests ‘hiding’ that text in the ‘dead zone’ of your appeal letters. The reasoning being that’s where it will do the least amount of harm (makes sense to me).
