How effective would you be in the game of darts if you were blindfolded? Not very I would guess! It’s the same in fundraising – if you don’t know who your primary target audience is, you might as well be blindfolded. If you’ve been in the fundraising field for any length of time, I’m sure you’ve heard the terms linkage, ability and interest. It never hurts to revisit the basics, so here we go (click here to continue).

Could you do me a huge favor? I’m in the process of deciding where to go next as it relates to my social media strategy and could really use your input. Please visit http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/535131/ee249a27f6d7 to complete a short survey to help me better serve you. Thanks so much!

It was a spring day in Florida – already hot, sun shining, air hanging with more than a hint of humidity. If I were older than 10 at the time I’m pretty sure I would have complaining about the humidity’s effect on my hair. My brother and I were standing under the palm tree that graced our front yard. Then Frits, my fifteen year old brother, asked me how it felt to run. Click here to read more.

When’s the last time you shared your organization’s story in a way that compelled people to want to know more? If you’re not sure how to start, call up 5 of your long-term donors and ask them why they give. It’s a great way to connect with your supporters – and you might learn something interesting.
