Early in my consulting work I would receive requests from nonprofits for help. They seemed to want things to be different, but often when it came right down to it they weren’t able to change what they were doing. I quickly can to the realization that, in addition to wanting change, leaders in organizations need to feel it so badly that they’re willing to do whatever it takes to see change happen.
Seth’s post helps me to clarify this further. It’s not just wanting the change and being willing to do things differently. It’s more about the fear of more of the same being greater than the fear of something different…
